The Ponytail Story

For those who know me or have seen me or my picture, They are aware that I sport a ponytail. For some, it adds to my personality. For others, I look awful. The later category mostly includes my parents and family. But for me, It is the most favourite part of my body. Ummmm.. Maybe second favorite.

Today, I lost a part of me. I killed my ponytail.

After committing this murder, I am going through an emotional turbulence. It’s just hair, Some will say. But they weren’t. That ponytail was part of me for half a decade and it defined me. And today, I am going to tell you the story of my ponytail.

Once upon a time, There was a lean guy with no sense of hair styling. And to hide this weakness of his, He used to get cropped haircut once in every one and half month. While he was in college, The days when guys experimented with hairstyle, He secretly wished to sport a ponytail. But “What will others say?” and “Everyone will make fun of me” stopped him from doing it. Once the experimentation time period was over, He buried his desire.

A couple of years into his professional life, He got fed-up of the moral compromises he had to make, The abuse of his simple nature and the unexpected twists in his personal life. So he decides to take a break. A break from everything and start afresh. While doing so, His long buried desired to sport a ponytail, resurfaced. “What will others say?” and “Everyone will make fun of me” knocked on his door. Gathering all the courage, He kicked them out of his world. Thus begins the birth of ponytail.

The initial criticism faded over the time. “People” were frustrated and fed-up of repeating the same episodes. The guy, who was disturbed by the criticism at first, Adjusted and adapted to the critical environment. After almost nine months without haircut, His dream became reality. He finally could tie his hair and turn them into ponytail.

Now people noticed the guy. Because he was different. Well.. At least he looked different. He could be easily identified in a crowd. Now he was a known person who was difficult to forget. His ponytail made this possible. The connections he made were fruitful in his professional life. He struggled but he was happy doing so.

But every good thing, comes to an end sometime.

The evil called “marriage” entered his life. In spite of being open minded, The guy had pledged to marry within his community to make his parents happy. He had hurt them enough in past. And he knew this one decision will make up for all. But now the same ponytail created problem. This particular species from Venus in his community, Apparently hated the ponytail. He waited and waited for that one exception. His wait wasn’t fruitful. Finally, with a heavy heart, he decided to do the unthinkable. He decided to murder the ponytail just to make his parents happy.

This is the saddest day in his life. The recovery from this murder will be difficult for him. He expects no one to understand his trauma and support him.

THE END

I hope so…

Sharing – A Family story

I was going through my e-mails and I found this story. I cannot express my feeling after reading this story. You guess..

I ran into a stranger as he passed by,
“Oh, excuse me please.” was my reply.
He said, “Please excuse me too; I wasn’t watching for you.”

We were very polite, this stranger and I.We went on our way and we said goodbye. But at home a different story is told,How we treat our loved ones, young and old.

Later that day, cooking the evening meal,My son stood beside me very still. When I turned, I nearly knocked him down.
“Move out of the way,” I said with a frown.
He walked away, his little heart broken.I didn’t realize how harshly I’d spoken.

While I lay awake in bed,God’s still small voice came to me and said,
“While dealing with a stranger, common courtesy you use,but the family you love, you seem to abuse.Go and look on the kitchen floor,You’ll find some flowers there by the door. Those are the flowers he brought for you.He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue.He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise, you never saw the tears that filled his little eyes.”

By this time, I felt very small,And now my tears began to fall.I quietly went and knelt by his bed;
“Wake up, little one, wake up,” I said.
“Are these the flowers you picked for me?”
He smiled, “I found ‘em, out by the tree.I picked them because they’re pretty like you.I knew you’d like them, especially the blue.”
I said, “Son, I’m very sorry for the way I acted today;I shouldn’t have yelled at you that way..”
He said, “Oh, Mom, that’s okay.I love you anyway.”
I said, ‘Son, I love you too,and I do like the flowers, especially the blue.’

Are you aware that if we died tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days. But the family we left behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives. And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than into our own family,an unwise investment indeed, don’t you think?

So what is behind the story?

Do you know what the word FAMILY means?

FAMILY = (F)ATHER (A)ND (M)OTHER (I) (L)OVE (Y)OU

This is just copy and paste of e-mail. No hard work from me. So will your attitude change towards your family after reading this? This is long running and forwarded e-mail. You may have read this earlier. Did this brought some change in you? It’s not crap and scrap for me. Things will change for me now.

The five minutes difference

While at the park one day, a woman sat down next to a man on a bench near a playground.
“That is my son over there,” she said, pointing to a little boy in a red sweater who was gliding down the slide.”He is a fine looking boy” the man said. “That is my daughter on the bike in the white dress.”

Then, looking at his watch, he called to his daughter. “What do you say we go, Melissa?”
Melissa pleaded, “Just five more minutes, Dad. Please? Just five more minutes.”
The man nodded and Melissa continued to ride her bike to her heart’s content. Minutes passed and the father stood and called again to his daughter. “Time to go now?”

Again Melissa pleaded, “Five more minutes, Dad. Just five more minutes.”
The man smiled and said, “OK.”
“My, you certainly are a patient father,” the woman responded.
The man smiled and then said, “Her older brother Tommy was killed by a drunk driver last year while he was riding his bike near here. I never spent much time with Tommy and now I would give anything for just five more minutes with him. I have vowed not to make the same mistake with Melissa. She thinks she has five more minutes to ride her bike. The truth is, I get Five more minutes to watch her play.”

Sooner or later you too realize the importance of five minutes to your family. Running after money and the work pressure takes away these five minutes from your family. Here the man pays the price for the five minutes. I pray that no one else suffers like this. Also I hope that you understand the importance of five minutes to loved ones before it’s too late.

Think Nonsense…

Rabbit and Eagle

An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing. A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him, “Can I also sit like you and do nothing?” The eagle answered: “Sure , why not.” So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and rested. All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it.

Moral of the story: To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up.

Most of the time we don’t see the person at higher level working as much as you. It’s a reward to him that he surpassed your level a while back and now can relax. But it’s not a time to relax for you. Otherwise the fox will jump upon you and you’ll find yourself a place in his stomach. These foxes are always hungry. So they can eat a lot. This is a picture I found to be interesting and thought of posting with the story. Although it’s not perfectly related.

Think Nonsense…

Definitely Maybe…

I saw this film yesterday. It was wonderful. Watching of good movies continues. This is one of those movies which I’ll definitely never forget. The last time I saw romantic English movie was “P.S.I Love You“. That was another fantastic movie. But I feel this one is definitely better than P.S.I Love You.

Have you watched this film?? If no then go and watch it. Find it in torrents, DVD’s, VCD’s anywhere and watch it. I’ll just try to put the story in my own words. It may contain spoiler. So stay away if you don’t like to know about the story before watching the movie. Watch the movie as soon as you can.

The story revolves around a guy Will Hayes who wants to be President of U.S.A. It’s not funny but real. In the film of course. He is a father of a sweet little girl named Maya and is about to get divorced. The little girl is really sweet. I loved her. Innocence at it’s best. So the father tells the girl about his story. The story is past life of our Will and his girlfriends. Will asks Maya to guess who is her mother at the end of the story.

She guesses right. But the true love of Will is not the mother of Maya. She is someone else. And is one of the three girlfriends. The story is really good and I never felt bored at any moment. Unlike P.S.I Love You where the movie goes slow at times. The director is successful in bringing out the emotions in the story. Ending was as usual a “Happy Ending”. The last line of Will in the move was just superb.

…because it was the only thing that I had left of you

If you didn’t like the movie much, you’ll surely have satisfaction of not wasting the ninety odd minutes.

Edit: Forgot to rate. I’ll rate it 9/10.

Definitely Maybe…
